“In the last lesson, we learned about gesture. And in this lesson, we're going to be discussing shape, and contour. Shape is comprised of simple lines that create a contour around the outside of the figure. We can then use this simple outside shape as a basis to create a more complex drawing by adding overlapping lines and internal context. So we're just going to start out by looking for the gesture of the figure. and she's got a fairly upright pose, right? The gesture line is going to be fairly straight.
