Start the course by getting to know your teacher Danillo Faria. He tells you how he discovered his passion for carpentry and furniture design. He also shares some of the biggest inspirations behind his pieces.
Go over the fundamentals that you need to bear in mind when making your piece. Study the structure and ergonomics of a chair and do an initial sketch based on example models. Take a took at the different types of wood and the tools and materials necessary to complete your project.
Now it's time to get to work! Start by making the arms and legs. Learn how to take measurements and mark the assembly holes. Get to work on the seat and the backrest.
Before putting all the pieces together, Danillo shows you a traditional technique for giving your chair the special touch it deserves: an original braided straw seat. With the help of your teacher, assemble your piece, sand it, and give it a stunning wax finish. To wrap things up, Danillo gives you some tips on transferring the skills learned on this course to your other projects.
