In the second unit, go through all the materials needed to create your project and see how Nuria finds inspiration. Learn new drawing techniques and create a series of sketches before selecting one to apply to a ceramic object. See how to add color to your work using Nuria’s methodology for defining a unique color palette.
Learn to transfer the drawing onto your ceramic piece and begin painting the compositions on the five plates. Apply some color and see how to finalize the details so your piece can be prepped for enameling. Finally, Nuria shows you how to fix any mistakes in your work using enamel.
In the final unit, discover how to use a kiln and learn about how you can apply the techniques you’ve learned, including application to different pieces and using other formats.

As for materials, you’ll need bisque ceramic pieces, silicated oxides (pigments for adding color), paint brushes, pencils, enamel, and a ceramics kiln (if you don’t have one, they are available to rent in most cities).

Nuria Blanco is a renowned artist in the Spanish design scene, working across several disciplines including drawing, screen printing, painting, and photography. She has received the Best Graphic Artwork prize by IDAE, the Jóvenes Creadores de la Calcografía Nacional certificate, and the “María Salamanca” prize from the Museo del Grabado Contemporáneo in Marbella.
