Continue with an introduction to the art of macramé and the fundamental material for this course: cord. Go over the other tools and materials you need for your project and see how to set up a clutter-free workspace for a comfortable knotting experience. Then learn the basic knots, their variants, and how to combine them before planning out your project alongside your teacher.
Calculate the length of cord for the back piece of your shelf and knot each of the sections from top to bottom.
Once the backing is finished, create straps to hold the wooden shelf and add decorative borders and fringe. Lara then shows you a few alternative designs for your wall shelf and shares some ideas to get you knotting your next project.
To tie everything together, learn some useful tricks for lengthening cord if you start running out during a project, as well as how to reuse whatever is left over.
