“How can I characterize the face? We just learned how to draw a face from the side. While I noticed, that my portrait has become more masculine, than I originally planned. I wanted to draw a female portrait with long hair. The question now is: Why does this portrait look so masculine? It's because male faces usually have fairly hard edges. The chin has a relatively hard edge, as I drew this. Those lines from the cheekbone, from the ridge of the eyebrow are often very pronounced and angular in men. When I draw a female face, I soften all those shapes. Softer curves, for example so that I let ...”
