Photographic Portraiture Specialization 02: Artistic Portraits

Victor Idrogo is a professional photographer from Peru. For more than 10 years he has been dedicated to commercial photography and has specialized in portraits. His works have been published in magazines such as Somos y cosas.

In his commercial office called Icónica Institucional Photography, he works with a team of professionals with whom he makes portraits and photographic coverage for companies and different institutions.

In parallel, he performs more personal work, also based on portraits and experimentation with the expressive use of light.

Tania Cervián is a trained psychologist who made the leap to photography when she discovered that light and beauty were what truly moved her. The way she sees it, photography is more than just a job, it's a wonderful tool for self-discovery and awareness. As an expert in portraits, she puts an emphasis on natural light and color in her work.

She uses her studio in Granada, Spain, as a multipurpose space to create and experiment, carry out photography projects for fashion brands and individual clients, and teach in-person classes.

Natalia Gw is a photo retoucher and photographer with a solid background in image editing, specializing in portraits and advertising. Her approach focuses on enhancing people's natural beauty while preserving their unique essence. With a background in fine arts, Natalia has developed her own style that blends artistic techniques with digital tools, achieving results that are both striking and subtle. Her experience ranges from collaborations with editorial projects to commercial campaigns, where her ability to capture light and detail has been key to their success.

Passionate about digital editing, Natalia has dedicated herself to sharing her knowledge with those interested in perfecting their skills in Photoshop and other editing tools. Through her work, she seeks to inspire others to explore the potential of photography as a means of artistic expression. Natalia values the importance of attention to detail, promoting a meticulous editing process that respects the proportions and authentic features of each portrait. Her commitment to continuous improvement and her love for art have made her a reference in the field of photo editing.

Lídia Vives is an artistic photographer, renowned for her pictorial self-portraits filled with secrets. Influenced by Henri-Cartier Bresson, she discovered photography as a means of artistic expression at sixteen, and decided to switch her paint brush for a camera.

Lídia’s work has been exhibited in Spanish and Australian galleries, using her Instagram account as a visual diary where she expresses all that she doesn’t say out loud. Her main clients include brands and editorials for which she creates fashion and advertising photography, and above all, for art collections.

Kristina Varaksina is a London-based photographer who works in advertising, fashion, and fine art. Growing up in Russia, she spent a lot of time reading and always enjoyed drawing and painting. Eventually, she went on to study a degree in architecture and interior design, and later, a master’s in graphic design. After working for a few years in graphic design and advertising, she moved to the U.S.to study for another master’s in photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Since then, Kristina has worked with clients including The BBC, The Telegraph, Harper’s Bazaar, and L’Officiel. Her work has been exhibited internationally at galleries in the U.S., Europe, and China, and she has taught photography at the Art Institute of California and New York Film Academy. She has also been recognized with a number of awards, including Portrait of Britain 2020 Winner and Lens Culture Critic’s Choice 2020 Winner.
