In every RAW file, there’s an entire world of possibilities waiting to be uncovered. With over 15 years of experience in the field, photographer Núria Aguadé has discovered all the tricks and secrets in the world of digital photography.
In this five-course Domestika Basics, Núria gives you an extensive run-through of Camera Raw, an Adobe Suite program that allows you to enhance your images with a striking amount of detail. Explore the many tools you can use to get the most out of your RAW files and elevate your photos with professional editing techniques.
Start by familiarizing yourself with the types of RAW files available and what kinds of adjustments they allow you to make. Next, take a tour of Camera Raw's interface, menus, and main tools. Learn to adjust the exposure, contrast, and color using the histogram and apply these modifications efficiently by batch-processing a set of images.
Then venture out into the world of image-enhancement tools and panels, exploring perspective correction, spot removal, crop tools, curves, lens correction, and more. Practice using noise reduction features and focus masks, two essential tools for achieving a clean, sharp finish.
Núria later explains how to use selective adjustment tools, both brushes and gradients, to individually work on light and dark areas, tailoring your touch-ups to each part of the image.
Discover how to apply final corrections in color as well as black and white, how to add vignettes or textures, how to create presets, and how to export your photos in different formats. To wrap up, learn the differences between retouching an image to be posted online as a JPG and one to be further processed in Adobe Photoshop so that you can create professional-looking images for a variety of uses.
