I Am The Forest - my project for the course Introduction to Narrative Photography

I Am The Forest is an ongoing photography project based on staged set-ups in natural environments and are a reflection of my personal relationship with the forest. The theme is inspired by folklore, fairy tales and ancient myths in which forests have a psychological significance related to the unconscious.

The main character in this series is inspired by the mythical figure of the huldra in Scandinavian folklore. This is a female forest spirit whose name huldra originally means "hidden" or "secret". Influenced by these tales, I try to create scenarios in which this imaginary creature appears both playful and mysterious.
