About the final project for: Guided Course: Create Fantastic Universes

Guided Course: Create Fantastic Universes

“It's time to open the door to worlds that only exist in your imagination and give them shape through digital illustration. This project doesn't seek to repeat formulas, but rather to explore what makes you unique: your symbols, your emotions, and your personal references. Throughout the process, you'll be able to try out styles, take risks with color and texture combinations, and experiment with visual narratives that only you can tell. It doesn't matter if your initial idea is small or ambitious: start with a simple sketch, let it grow layer by layer, and you'll see how a universe bearing your signature emerges. Share your results with the community, because your fantastical world can be the spark that inspires others to imagine their own. 1. The enchanted forest: a refuge between shadows and lights Create a natural universe inhabited by impossible trees, tiny creatures, or glow-in-the-dark plants. Work with the color palette to create mysterious or magical atmospheres. Project example: An illustration of a forest where luminous mushrooms mark paths and animal silhouettes hide in the fog. 2. Impossible architectures: cities from another world Imagine a fantastical urban space that defies the laws of physics: floating buildings, endless bridges, or organic glass towers. Use geometry and color to convey scale and grandeur. Project example: A city suspended in the sky, with transparent walkways and hanging gardens bathed in shades of lilac and gold. 3. Mystical creatures: designing beings with personality Invent a fantasy character that combines animal, plant, or cosmic traits. Explore how color and textures tell their story and character. Project example: A half-feline, half-bird creature with iridescent plumage and eyes that reflect constellations. 4. Dreamscape: emotions transformed into space Choose an emotion as a guide (nostalgia, joy, serenity) and transform it into a world. Use color as your primary language to convey the feeling. Project example: An endless landscape of blue dunes illuminated by twin moons, reflecting a melancholic atmosphere. 5. Narrative universe: a scene that tells a story Design an illustration that functions as a fragment of a story. Imagine the viewer entering your world in the middle of an action or mystery, and use details to suggest what happened before and what might happen next. Project example: A lone traveler stands in front of a giant gate in a mountain, covered in glowing symbols that appear ready to activate. Close your project by remembering that this universe is yours alone: no one else can imagine it the same way. The value lies not in its perfection, but in its authenticity, in your mark being evident in every stroke and every color. Dare to show what you dream, even what cannot be explained in words: images have the power to open previously closed doors. Allow yourself to enjoy the process, celebrate each discovery, and trust that your fantasy world will be as unique as your way of seeing it.”
