The mission of visual artist Jhoel Mamani is to awaken in the viewer the desire to believe in their artistic potential and to convey that any idea or dream can be successfully realized. His works communicate a creative concept through the visual fundamentals of painting, and his style recreates surreal scenes full of forms related to the concept of death and life; natural hybrids and crows everywhere.
In this online course, Jhoel teaches you the tools, techniques, and creative processes of oil painting in the surreal world so that you can create dreamlike characters and settings. See the basic concepts of the volume and learn to develop a pictorial piece in oil, starting from a subject of personal interest full of symbology and a lot of imagination.

What's included in this course?
Start the course by getting to know Jhoel, his pictorial work, and his passion for surrealism. He talks to you about this style, about his artistic influences, and explains what you are going to do during the course.
Jhoel introduces you to the fundamentals of semiotics. Next, he teaches you his method to objectively capture a free creation of a character.
Choose a theme and see how to land it and materialize it in elements. Your main character is a hybrid of the elements you have defined, then you experiment and mix them with each other. Characters should have recognizable colors. Immerse yourself in the construction of a surreal scene and think about how it relates to the main character.
See techniques and theoretical concepts to help you better understand drawing and volume. Discover how to use the tools (brushes, oils, solvents, etc.) and train your sight by identifying the different tonal scales; later, learn to draw with volume in monochrome practice exercises.
Go on to use color to create volume. Understand the relationship between form and space in oil painting. Then, go a step further in volumes, adding midtones, highlights, shadows, reflections, and spatiality with tonalities and overlays.
Learn the compositional guidelines, to place the elements depending on the size, tone, and shape of the work. Then, Jhoel helps you to give the stage more clarity by positioning the character with volume.
Finally, apply what you have learned in your final project, starting with the scene, moving on to your character and main image with volume, and culminating your work with objects that provide rhythm and harmony.

Requirements and materials
You need basic or intermediate knowledge of drawing, and have a minimum artistic sensitivity and taste for painting, as well as its history.
As for materials, you need a set of oil colors or separately: lemon and cadmium yellow, cadmium and carmine red, ultramarine and Prussian blue, sap and emerald green, and finally, titanium white. You also need a white palette, a small bottle of medium and turpentine, round bristle brushes number 10, 12, 14, and 16; flat brushes with soft hair, numbers 10, 12, and 14; 0 and 00 liner brushes, a bottle of vegetable spirits (it is suggested not to use a petroleum derivative), a small spatula and a canvas of approximately 50 x 60 cm format (this medium size is suggested, but the student can choose their format).

C'est de loin, le meilleur cour sûr la peinture à l'huile, que j'ai suivis à date! IL aborde des sujets de base, mais primordiales pour avancer dans la peinture. Dès sujets tels que, la théorie des couleurs, la compositions, les valeurs, les volumes, le tout avec des exercices pratiques, mais cohérentes avec la réalisation, pas à pas, de votre propre et première oeuvre surréaliste. Je recommande ce cours à tous, qu'il soit débutant ou avancé, vous ne saurez que plus l'apprécier!

Buen curso, explicativo y la parte de introducción al óleo es básica pero esencial.
Mamani considers himself a workshop and field painter, and a lover of the surrealist style. He has made different art exhibitions, local and national. He is currently the art director of the cultural association "PopulArt", where he promotes integrated arts in districts and vulnerable areas in Peru. The Congress of the Republic of Peru has awarded him the distinction of Commended Cultural Figure 2019.
